Financial freedom is different for many persons. For some people, to be financially free means to be able to quit their job. It may be being able to travel the world without worrying about finances.
For others, financial freedom means not worrying about where the next paycheck is coming from. For me, financial freedom basically means being in charge of my time, being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want it, and not have to answer to a boss. It’s clear that there is no one definition of financial freedom.
I think that people in third-world countries feel like they cannot be free because they focus so much on what they are lacking and miss out on the things they have in front of them; they miss out on the resources that are in front of them.
They look at the outside world, especially the developed countries. They look at what developed countries have and examine what they lack. They become so blind to the resources in front of them that they do not utilize them.
They create this mentality that they can't be financially free or we cannot be financially free if we are living in a third-world country. Now, I have been a teacher for over 13 years. First, let me say that I do live in a third-world country.
I am a Caribbean girl. I love my Caribbean lifestyle. I love nature. It brings me peace, and I don't think I would trade it for anything. As I was saying, I have been a teacher for 13 years, and it's almost a year since I left teaching. For persons who will read this blog later, I left teaching the year 2023.
If you have ever taught before, it's one of the hardest professions ever, especially if you commit yourself to creating a change and helping youths. I enjoyed teaching. I just got tired. I think I got burnt out. I knew it would have happened because of the amount of energy I put into my job.
I believe that whenever you put your hand to something, you must always put your best foot forward. Do it to the best of your ability. As a result, in my 13 years of teaching, I put my best foot forward. I was always willing to learn something new to help the students in my class.
So, the question is, can you live in a third-world country and be financially free? The answer to that is yes, you can. I am testimony to that. As I said earlier, financial freedom for me means being in control of your time, and I feel liberated.
I don't feel like I need to rush to do anything or to go anywhere. I feel liberated. I am more energized, and I have more time with my family. I am better able to help my kids in their academics.
I would not have been able to write this blog or say that I am in control of my time if I hadn't spent the 13 years while in teaching INVESTING and failing along the way. If you are living in a third-world country, you can gain financial freedom. The thing you need to ask yourself is, what is your why? What is that burning desire? What does financial freedom mean to you? It does not matter where in the world you live, you can gain your financial freedom.
Each individual has the resources in their country to gain financial freedom. Ask yourself the why. An extremely important point is to TAKE ACTION. Some people spend years complaining and they do nothing.
If you truly want financial freedom and you do not take action, you will not get that freedom you want. Take action. ALWAYS BE WILLING TO LEARN.
What is that skill you have or need to learn to get where you want to be? What is the skill you need to learn to gain financial freedom? Always be willing to learn from others, and take advantage of the wealth of knowledge around you. Technology has evolved to a point where reach has been globalized tremendously. Keep pushing!
I will end on this note. Failure will come, but if you keep pushing forward, no matter where you are, you can gain the financial freedom you desire.
